Cancellation of New Years Eve Service

To all New Beginnings Community Church members, family and friends,

I greet you in divine love. The situation with respect to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its new variant OMICRON is evolving and spreading quickly, and since its evolution, I have been prayerfully and watchfully especially during this season, to assess the impact of this outbreak and its implications for our church family.  The health and well-being of our members are of paramount concern to us.

In order to protect your health and safety, particularly the most vulnerable members of our community, we are announcing that we will be cancelling our New Year’s Eve (Watchnight) service.  Let me take this moment to thank our Worship & Arts Ministry as they have been busy preparing for this event. I do understand if you are disappointed but as your leader, I must make decisions in the best interest of the congregation I have been called to lead.

Our goal as a church community is to LOVE GOD-LOVE PEOPLE-MAKE DISCIPLES, and in order to do this in a practical and safe manner, we must at all times exercise wisdom and patience whilst taking the necessary precautions. I alongside the Administrative Staff & Board of Directors will be monitoring the changes and the advice of the Ministry of Health and if further adjustments need to be made, we will inform you promptly.

We will however continue to have our in-person worship experience on Sundays.  As such the following is mandatory to maintain the safety of all our congregants:

  • Mandatory Online Registration to reserve a seat for in-person worship.

  • Mandatory temperature check before allowed access to the sanctuary.

  • Mandatory wearing of face mask throughout service.

  • Assigned seating by ushers. When assigned you MUST remain in that space.

  • Children must sit with their parents except when they are in Children’s Church.

How Can You Help?

Spiritually speaking, we are asking all of our family and friends to pray, stay connected and continue to give generously. We believe there is power in prayer and that prayer can reverse every plan of the enemy. Remember, what may be a surprise to us is never a surprise to God. We know that God is in full control, and He gives us peace like no one else can (John 14:27).  I encourage you to continue to find your peace in the truth of God’s Word and rest in His love for you. God has given us love, power, and a sound mind, so rest in your faith, and not in your fear (2 Timothy 1:7).  For further encouragement, please also read Psalms 91.

Practically speaking, here are some specific steps you can take to prevent the spread of flu and the common cold, which will also help to prevent the spread of coronavirus and its variants:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If not available, use hand sanitizer.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands

• Avoid contact with people who are sick, or coughing or sneezing.

• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, and throw the tissue in the trash.

If you, or a family member, are exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (fever, coughing, and runny nose), we respectfully ask that you follow the steps below to help prevent the virus from spreading to people in your home and community:

• Seek medical advice by contacting your doctor or by visiting the emergency room for guidance.

• Self-isolate at home during your illness

• Avoid public areas, including but not limited to work, school, and church

We love you dearly,

Bishop and First Lady Francis
